The experience in brief
- An experiential workshop that introduces you to the art of weaving;
- The length of the workshop can vary according to the needs of the participant(s): from 1 to 10 days;
- You will learn to create beautiful artifacts using the horizontal loom, combining theory and practice;
- During the course you will deepen your knowledge of materials, color designs and textile techniques.

Full description
The workshop offers the opportunity to approach the ancient art of weaving and learn the techniques of making Sardinian carpets by combining theory and practice.
Together we will study not only techniques, but also the models and designs that have been handed down from generation to generation in Sardinia.
You will be able to work on traditional horizontal looms and you will learn to recreate the splendid typical artefacts of Villanova Monteleone such as “Sa fressada”, made with a smooth working technique, and “sa Catalufa” which instead has a more complex workmanship called “a ranu”.
The workshop is open to everyone, without the need for prior knowledge. An expert weaver will support and guide you during all phases (from design to production) and together you will deepen your knowledge of materials, designs, colours and textile techniques.
